It was made in Edo era.
Inari means "rice glow up", so it is a god of rice & rich crop.
People make Inari sushi to pray rich crop.
I think Japanese like luck like New Years dishes.
All of food in New Years dihes have meanings.
What is funny...
The shape of Inari sushi is different in eastern and western Japan.
East=oblong (like rice bale)
West=triangle△

I searched Korean Inari sushi on the web,
but I couldn't find origin.
However, I found this
It's colorful and unique!!
There are Kimuchi and Pinapple in the Inari sushi!!!
I don't know Korean Inari sushi was imported from Japan or not,
but I think Japanese one affect Korean one, definitely!!!
