Emergency Food

Where were you at 14:46, 3.11?

I was in Shinjyuku for job-hunting, and I couldn't go back to home because all of the trains stopped. I stayed the night at Shinjyuku high school with Yuna in this class.
Fourtunely, we could buy and eat gyu-don for dinner and also, we ate gyu-don...again for breakfast.
However, most foods were sold out in many stores at that time.

I think that everyone rethought the disaster planning, and I think one of important point is "Food".
So... today's topic is "Emergency Food"

I searched about it and found some interesting emergency foods.

1.Dried bread(Kan pan)

When I heard the word "Emergency food", I came up this fast.
It is one kind of cracker. There are rock sugers in what I've eaten before.
We don't need anything when we eat it.
But...It is diffcult to feel a feeling of fullness and it's very dried out.
And... it's not so delicious. If we have only this at the emergency situation, I'll eat it but...

2.Instant noodle

We eat it daily. There are a lot of kinds of noodle. Also, taste are very good recently.
We will have a full belly with it compared dried bread.
But it is not so good for our health, less nutritious...
Also, the weak point of this is that it need boild water.
If all of lifeline were stopped, we can't eat it.

3.Canned bread

It is almost same as normal bread. The difference is that only it' s canned!
We can keep it 6months~1year.
And, there are many flavors, chocolate, blueberry, fruit etc...
But, it is a little bit high price... it sold about 400yen a piece.

4.Alpha rice

It is really useful one! It is DRIED cooked rice!!
The most important point is that we can eat it with only water!!
Moreover, it ha various menu eg: white rice, pilaf, okowa, rice gruel...
I think it's healther than instant nudle, and we Japanese need RICE!!!!

5. Space food

It's really interesting!!
It's freeze- dried foods!!!
We don't need anything when we eat it!!
I was very surprised because they have a lot of freeze-dried foods!!
eg. gratin, takoyaki, kimuchi etc...
I've never eaten it, but my friends said it's good.

Especially Japan has a lot of earth quick, so I think these emergency foods were invented.
If we Japan didn't have earth quick, we would not have such a lot of kind of emergency food.
The environment and geography of Japan made the history of Japanese emergency food, may be.

Piru-Piru

I went to "GRANVIA" which is a Spanish restaurant near KaihinMakuhari station with my friends.
It was very delicious restaurant, so I really recommend you to try there!!

Today, I'll talk about "Piru-Piru"(sorry I don't know this spelling is correct or not)
This is "Piru-Piru" One of my favorrite food!!

it is a Spanish food and it is said that the boiled olive oil makes a sound like "piru-piru", so it named "Piru-Piru". It's very unique name, isn't it?

This day, I ate shrimp, octopus and mushroom piru-piru. These are all of Piru-Piru on the menu lol

I usually eat it with French bread.
It is sooooo yummy to eat it with bread.
Dip the bread into the oil!
The taste and flavor of the shrimp, octopus, mushroom and garlic blend into the oil, so you shouldn't leave it!!!

AND!
Be careful when you eat it! because it is super hot!!
It looks very delicious so you may try to eat as soon as it arrive, but it is soooo dangerous.

The biginning of American Pizza is Italian immigrants' home cooking in 19c.

In 1905, the first pizzeria opened in NYC.

In 1945, American soldiers in Italy(during WW2) were back to America and they bought it.

In 1957, frozen pizza appeared in grocery store and it became super populer!!

The difference between American Pizza and Italian Pizza is...

American Pizza is thicker than Italian Pizza.

and...hearty topping are the characteristic of American Pizza.
